F&M Trust recently donated $7,500 toward the expansion of the John Graham Library’s historic building on Parsonage Street in Newville. The 30-foot-by-60-foot addition will increase capacity for the library’s larger events and provide additional shelf space for materials and resources.

“F&M Trust’s donation will allow the library to expand its selection of educational and informative programs,Three F&M Trust employees presenting a large check to a John Graham Library employee. which was limited by lack of programming space,” John Graham Library Director Mary Schoedel said. “It will allow us to expand our collections, since the shelf space in our existing building is full. It also includes a space for the Friends of the John Graham Library to store and sort books for fundraisers.”

John Graham Library serves nearly 14,000 residents in Newville, Penn Township, North Newton Township, Lower Mifflin Township, West Pennsboro Township, and Cooke Township. The library hosts free Summer Learning Program events, weekly preschool story time, and other educational activities for children, teens, and adults, including STEM activities, book clubs, and crafts.

“Libraries are not just somewhere we borrow books; they are places where we gather to explore, interact, and imagine,” F&M Trust President & CEO Tim Henry said. “F&M Trust is proud to support John Graham Library and its mission of enriching the community through education, entertainment, technology, and historical resources.”
