| F&M Trust supports Four Diamonds through CASHS mini-THON (CHAMBERSBURG) F&M Trust presented checks totaling $1,439 to The Four Diamonds Fund at the CASHS Mini-THON held on November 12 at the Chambersburg Area High School.
The bank’s support included a $500 corporate contribution along with $939 collected from bank employees from a casual day event. Over 110 student dancers raised individual donations by staying on their feet for 12 hours during the mini-THON. Corporate and individual donations totaled over $20,000.
The mini-THON is a smaller version of Penn State’s THON held at Penn State’s University Park. THON and mini-THONs, held at numerous high schools across the state, raise money to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The Four Diamonds Fund was created in 1972 to assist children being treated for pediatric cancer at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families. Presently, there are seven children residing in the Chambersburg area school district undergoing treatment at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
The CASHS mini-thon was held to show support and inspiration for three Chambersburg students currently undergoing cancer treatments – Maggie Patterson, Jacob Salter, and Lance Gordon. Karen Patterson, Maggie’s mother, served as the event chair for the second annual CASHS mini-thon.
