Totem Pole names F&M Trust 2009 Community Partner of the Year

F&M Trust President Bill Snell accepts award from Totem Pole Board President Elise Overcash

(Fayetteville, PA) The Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania’s premiere professional summer theatre recognized F & M Trust as the Community Partner of the Year at the 2009 Legacy Society and Honors Dinner on Friday, October 2 at The Orchards Restaurant, Chambersburg. 

Bill Snell, President and CEO of F&M Trust, was presented the award by Elise Overcash, President of the Totem Pole Playhouse Board of Directors, for F&M Trust’s long commitment to the theatre. The bank has been a business supporter of the theatre since 1993 as a show sponsor as well as past and present board members including Martha Walker, Bill Snell, Ken Ditzler, and Karen Carmack.
 
Six other recipients were presented with honors including: Mr. & Mrs. William Reinhardt, Camp Hill - President’s Award for exemplary commitment to the theatre; Charles Q. Smith, Chambersburg – Benefactor of the Year for devotion and support of Totem Pole Playhouse; David Bailey, Chambersburg – Volunteer of the Year; William Gelbach, Waynesboro – 60 years of supporting the theatre and the remaining original shareholder; Judy Houser, Chambersburg – 25 years of service; and Sue McMurtray, Caledonia – 25 years of service.
 
Five individuals were recognized as charter members of the theatre’s newly formed Legacy Society. John Gates of Scotland; Charles Q. Smith, Nathan Rotz, Elise Overcash all of Chambersburg and Sue McMurtray of Caledonia were thanked by Judy Houser, Executive Director for their commitment to the playhouse to help ensure it will continue for future generations. The Legacy Society is an honorary society that recognizes individuals who have included the theatre in their estate plans.
 
The Totem Pole Playhouse is one of eleven remaining Council of Resident Stock (CORST) Theatres in the United States. The theatre will mark the 60th anniversary of the summer playhouse in 2010. For more information about the theatre, visit www.TotemPolePlayhouse.org.
