2013 Library Tour features local authors
F&M Trust is sponsoring the 2013 Library Tour in conjunction with The American Literacy Corporation (ALC). The tour includes visits to eight libraries in Franklin, Fulton and Cumberland counties.
This year, the tour will feature visits from authors Floyd “SuperReader” Stokes and Michael Sgrignoli, who will read at each location.The purpose of the library tour is to promote reading to children from birth to 5thgrade and encourage regular visits to the library. Dutch Wonderland tickets and other door prizes will be given out at each library, and light refreshments will be served. The tour is free and open to the public.

Floyd Stokes is the author of twelve books:Teddy, The Hungry Little Bear; Say Ahh; Popcorn; The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe; My Glasses; The Boy Who Cried Wolf; Bullying is Bad; Thank You, You’re Welcome; We Are Money Smart; AJ The Rooster; and Healthy Habits. In 2010, he travelled to libraries and schools in all 50 states to share his love of reading.
Michael Sgrignoli is from Mechanicsburg. Together with his son, Ethan, he createdDinorific Poetry, a book that introduces readers to some familiar (and not-so-familiar) dinosaurs through lively, informative poems paired with the kind of colorful illustrations only the imagination of a child could produce.
The ALC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The purpose of the ALC is to design and implement supplemental literacy programs that promote the importance of learning to students up to 5thgrade.
