(CHAMBERSBURG) The Franklin County Library System today announced that the 2013 Annual Appeal has reached two-thirds of its goal of $60,000, thanks in part to financial support from F&M Trust, the campaign's underwriting sponsor.

F&M Trust’s support in the amount of $2,500 has allowed the library to do more, and reach farther than ever with their fundraising efforts, sending out more than 13,000 appeal letters. The underwriting funding also enabled the Library System to promote the Annual Appeal more effectively, adding greatly to community awareness and the positive response.

“To have raised more than $40,000 towards our goal in just a little over two months is fantastic!” says Franklin County Library System Development Specialist Mark Miller. “The partnership with F&M Trust has really given us a boost this year, and we are grateful for their support. The Library System works hard to respond to the needs of our thousands of patrons, and the Annual Appeal is an important part of those efforts.” Proceeds from the Annual Appeal are used to purchase additional copies of new releases, more e-books, and other materials for patron use.

Each year the Franklin County Library System conducts an annual solicitation to library patrons and community supporters to help pay for many things that state and local funding does not. In addition to an unrestricted gift to the Library System, donors may also earmark their donations to go directly to their favorite local library. For the purpose of the Annual Appeal the Franklin County Library System includes Coyle Free Library, Grove Family Library, Besore Memorial Library, St. Thomas Library, Fort Loudon Library, the Bookmobile and Book Buggy mobile libraries. Alexander Hamilton and Blue Ridge Summit Libraries are also affiliated with the system, but do their own annual fundraising.

The Appeal will continue through the end of the year and donations may be dropped off at any Franklin County System Library or made through their website atwww.fclspa.org. Go to the website and look for the “Donate Now / Just Give” logo at the bottom left corner.
