  Increased fraudulent debit card usage has been detected at certain types of merchants in New Jersey and New York. To help protect our customers we are temporarily restricting signature-based transactions at select merchants in both states. If you try to make a legitimate purchase in these states and find that your card is rejected, we recommend requesting that the transaction be processed as debit using a PIN number.
