F&M Trust proudly commissioned renowned Civil War artist Ron Lesser to paint three pieces of art commemorating and capturing historical local events: the shelling of Carlisle, the burning of Chambersburg, and civil war heroine Dolly Harris. "The Shelling of Carlisle - July 1-2, 1863," the first in the series, was introduced in 2003. The second in the series, "The Burning of Chambersburg - July 30, 1864" will unveiled in 2004. The latest in the series, "Dolly Harris - Civil War Heroine - June 1863, Greencastle, Pennsylvania" was released in conjunction with F&M Trust's Greencastle Office opening in September 2006. These prints display artist Ron Lesser's ability to capture the drama and destruction in a daringly realistic portrayal of these events. With almost photographic realism the artist invites the viewer to join him in a momentous historic adventure back to the 1860's. The prints are available for purchase at F&M Trust and can be ordered and picked up at any F&M Trust community office. Prints can also be ordered online and shipped to your home. In order to share this works with the community, F&M Trust has donated the original oil paintings to the Cumberland County Historical Society, Chambersburg Heritage Center, and Antrim-Allison Museum, respectively, for permanent placement in their collections. In addition, 10% of the each print sale was donated to support various community organizations or events. Click here for more on "The
